GW Knowledge in Action Career Internship Fund Summer 2014

gw knowledge

The GW Career Services Council is happy to announce that the GW Knowledge in Action Career Internship Fund (KACIF) application period for Summer 2014 will launch shortly. Below are some general details about KACIF for faculty and staff to help spread the word about this great initiative to students.

Background: The Knowledge in Action Career Internship Fund was initiated by the Career Services Council to provide financial support to GW students who have substantive internships that are necessarily unpaid. Necessarily unpaid internships are typically those with non-profit, governmental, educational, and non-governmental organizations that genuinely lack the financial resources to pay salaries or wages to their interns. The program is funded by generous donations made by alumni, parents and Board of Trustees members, and the grants will range from $1,000 to $3,000.

Basics: All GW students from all schools in good standing – both undergraduates and graduates – may apply to the Fund.
For information on KACIF eligibility requirements, the application process, and information sessions, please refer interested students to the FAQ page.

The application period commences at 8:00am EST on Friday, March 28, 2014, and closes at 8:00am EST, Tuesday, April 8, 2014.

Applications will be reviewed by the Career Services Council, and decisions will be sent to all applicants on Wednesday, May 14, 2014.

Students who have further questions can be referred to gwkacif@gwu.edu.
