Taking Summer Courses Elsewhere

10-Common-Travel-Mistakes-You-Can-AvoidGWSB students interested in taking courses at another university during the summer should consult with their advisor beforehand in order to insure that they qualify to do so.  GWSB students may transfer up to 9 credits back to GW after matriculation if they meet general residency requirements; students may not transfer community college credit after reaching 60 credits on their GW record.  Summer courses must be reviewed and approved by the appropriate GW professor before enrolling elsewhere.  The Summer Course Approval form can be accessed on the GWSB Advising Center website here; the list of faculty contacts for approval can be accessed here.

Any student taking summer courses at an institution outside of the US must register with the GW Office of Study Abroad.

  • International Students taking classes in their home country should register here.
  • Domestic students taking classes outside of the US should register here.
