Turning the Page – Spring Book Drive

TTP-logo-and-nameWe will be hosting a used book, CD and DVD collection in support of D.C. education nonprofit Turning the Page. Turning the Page (www.turningthepage.org) works to engage parents of D.C. public school students to become stronger educators of their children at home, advocates for their children in school, and leaders in their school communities. Turning the Page is dedicated to connecting D.C. public school families, teachers, and community members in order to create and sustain strong and supportive learning environments within schools, homes, and neighborhoods.

To raise critical funds for their programs, they ask local community members to donate used books, CDs and DVDs – of all genres and for all ages (for adults and/or kids), but no magazines, VHS tapes, or periodic journals/reports please. Turning the Page then sells the donated items to raise funds for their programs.  Visit Turning the Page’s own used bookstore, Carpe Librum (www.carpelibrum.org), at 1030 17th St, NW to browse thousands of great donated items on sale for under $4. For our collection we have placed a donation bin in the Duquès Lobby.

Turning the Page will be able to provide tax receipts for donations that you make. Please indicate the number and type of items that you have donated, and send an email to books@turningthepage.org.
